It's Real Diaper Week!

This week, those of us in the Cloth Diapering Communities around the United States and Canada are are celebrating Real Diaper Week. All across North America, cloth diaper store owners/managers and cloth diaper advocates are gearing up for the Great Cloth Diaper Change on April 21st. We, unfortunately, will not be able to participate this year due to family commitments and a baby shower!
Please visit the Great Cloth Diaper Change website and find a location near you! If you would like to be a participant, you will need to contact the location as soon as possible to register in advance. A lot of locations, like the ones in Cambridge, NE and Omaha, NE will be putting on a pretty amazing event to go along with the record setting diaper changes!

Because we will not be around, we will offer some sales throughout the week. I know all too well that a lot of cloth diapering mamas are far from brick and mortar store so shopping online is all they can do. Those moms deserve some deals this week as well!

Sales that will be valid all week:

Daily Deals (please watch FaceBook):

  • Every day, I will post a coupon code on our FaceBook page that will be valid for that day only and while supplies last.

In other news!!!!

We are currently working on a formal showroom in our home! This will allow us to have regular hours of operation and allow our local customers to come shop, look, and feel the diapers before making their purchases! Hopefully this will also allow us to begin forming a local cloth diapering community. My dream is to offer regular classes and get togethers for our local moms!

Have a WONDERFUL week and use the REAL DIAPERS!!!

Monday Match-Up 4-2-12!!!

Is it really April already!?!?! Sheesh. This year is going by super fast.

With April, came the changing of prints at GroVia. The company asked us to extend a 15% Off sale through the end of March, but I've still got a few left!

This is for PRINTS ONLY:

The Prints are currently listed at 20% off, which makes them $13.56 each. This price will stay until the old prints are gone. I am also working on an order of solid colors and will be stocking the new prints when I can.

As for this week's Monday Match-Up:
If you purchase one of the Print Shells AND a GroVia Organic Cotton Soaker, you can use the coupon code MMU4212 for an additional $1.51 off of the GroVia Shell, bringing the total to $30.00!Regular price for this combination is $34.90!

Another Monday, Another Match-Up!

How many PUL covers do you have in your rotation? I've said it before and I'll say it again, I am a minimalist when it comes to covers. I have 2 PUL covers that I use regularly and about 6 fleece covers. The fleece covers are SO simple to care for, just throw them in with any load of laundry and dry them in the dryer. But the PUL covers, which I use way more than once between washes, aren't so simple. They require a hanging to dry and sometimes, I just don't have time. Also, there are those dreaded times when you wash it, use it, and baby makes a nice stinky mess which seems to be lingering on the cover. Baby wipes did the trick until I stopped using disposable baby wipes. Now I just use water and a cloth wipe, so it doesn't seem to help the cover much.

But Diaper Rite Fresh Wrap Spray is the answer to my prayers! I can still use my cloth wipes and a little water on them doesn't hurt, but the Fresh Wrap provides a "clean slate" so to say, on my cover. It is all natural (distilled water, naturally derived alcohol and proprietary essential oil blend) and the essential oils are antibacterial and anti-fungal! Oh, and it smells like Lemon Drop!

In stock, we only have 2 covers that have an exposed PUL layer on the inside. Those covers are the Best Bottom and the Bummis Super Brite (which I only have in white).

For today's Monday Match-Up, you have a few options, the common denominator is the Fresh Wrap and there are only 3 available!

1. Best Bottom Diaper (regular $16.95) and a bottle of Fresh Wrap (regular $9.70) - $2.00 off the Fresh Wrap with code: 1MMU31912

2. Bummis Super Brite (regular $12.65) and a bottle of Fresh Wrap (regular $9.70) - $2.00 off the Fresh Wrap with code: 1MMU31912. Because this combination does not meet the $25 minimum for free shipping, you will also need code 2MMU31912 in order to get the FREE SHIPPING unless you have other items in your cart totaling $25.00.

3. Diaper Rite Cloth Wipes (regular $7.50) and a bottle of Fresh Wrap (regular $9.70) - $2.00 off the Fresh Wrap with code: 1MMU31912 and $1.00 off the wipes with code: 3MMU31912  - I CANNOT OFFER FREE SHIPPING ON THIS CODE UNLESS YOU ORDER ENOUGH TO HIT THE $25.00 FREE SHIPPING THRESHOLD. Sorry.

Strip those babies' diapers!

There seems to be a lot of talk on FaceBook about stripping diapers lately. Recently, I lost my water softener system and I've been relearning and perfecting my wash routine again after over a year without issues. Not long ago, I did a good long soak in Eco Sprout, which was amazing. Then, I got some RLR and I just HAD to try it! Awesome stuff I might add. But now, we've got Biokleen's Bac-Out in the 32 oz bottle with the foaming action spray nozzle. I have not yet had an opportunity to test it out, not going to lie to you, but I plan to tomorrow. I sent all my pocket diapers with micorfiber inserts and my AIOs to daycare today, so I will get some ..... man! I forgot to take pictures of them before they were used. Ugh! I ALWAYS do that! OK, well just trust me. The microfiber is yellow and the AIOs are stained. We're just advancing past winter here in Nebraska, so there hasn't been a lot of sunning going on lately.

So, this week's Monday Match-Up is a 32oz Bottle of BioKleen's Bac-Out and 2 packs of RLR Laundry Treatment for $17.00, shipped for free!

Watch for a post on my experience with BacOut as soon as I can!

Monday Match-Up 2-27-12

I struggled with what to pick today but I've been using a few CJ's products regularly for MYSELF and I decided that the Mommy's need something for themselves this week. So:

Like I said, all products I use regularly. Here's a little bit more about each and my experiences.

CJ's Natural Deodorant

I've been using CJ's Deodorant  for close over a year. It's been discontinued, but I've got a few on my self. Come to think of it, why am I offering this up to you when I should totally be hoarding it? Oh well. I started using it because my nursling found entertainment in licking near my armpits. Last thing I wanted was my precious little girl ingesting the Secret Clinical Strength Antiperspirant I had been using!
It takes a little bit for your body to adjust to a natural deodorant. Luckily, my baby brother had warned me of this in advance, or I wouldn't be recommending this product to you today. At first, you'll find yourself applying more and reapplying throughout the day. That is pretty normal while you are adjusting. But now, I apply in the morning, and 95% of the time, I'm good all day. Remember, this is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. If I know I'll be having a particularly stressful day, I still grab the "other" stuff. I'm about to start working out again, so we'll see how that goes. I mean, you are supposed to stink at the gym, right?

CJ's Creamy Lotion

Ahhhh...CJ's Creamy Lotion. If you have been following my FaceBook for awhile, you may recall me asking about natural/alternative treatments for acne. Well, here is what I did: I stopped using all the stuff I had in the house. I had been using  Neutrogena Washes and Astringent. I now ONLY apply CJ's Lotion after showers and my acne is SO much better. Disclaimer: I do not typically wear make-up. If I do, usually it is just powder or if I'm getting "dressed up" I'll wear the Clinique Tinted Moisturizer, powder and some mascara. If you wear make-up, you'll probably need to use a make-up remover at least.
Anyway, what I figured out was that I was drying out my skin, which was causing my acne. Duh. I mean, I've only heard that a million times. But when you have oily skin, you think that it doesn't apply to you. Let me tell you friends, IT DOES!
I also use this lotion on my kiddos.
I almost forgot to mention that when I had  a sinus infection recently and the skin around my nose was super dried out, this lotion made things all better without the burn that typical lotions cause.

I was hesitant to try this because I've always used a bleach/water mix for general cleaning. But when the Apples & Spice, seasonal scent came out, I had to try it! I now use CJ's All Purpose Cleaner for ALL PURPOSE CLEANING. LOL. I use it for the kitchen counters, stove top, inside and outside of cabinets, fronts of appliances.... I also use it for surface cleaning in the bathroom, dusting, wiping down the dining room table, etc. I would not recommend it for cleaning glass and I do recommend checking a small spot before using it on any wood products, but otherwise, it is definitely ALL PURPOSE. And what is better than a clean house that doesn't smell like typical cleaning products?

And finally  there is the Chap Stick!

Again, with the recent sinus infection and the mouth breathing (it was awesome, let me tell you!), my already chronically chapped lips were in horrible shape. I am not terribly good at remembering where I put things, so I tend to spend half of my days with dry lips, searching for my Chap Stick, but when I find it RELIEF!!!
You can actually feel CJ's Chapstick absorbing into your lips and moisturizing. Can you say that about other brands you've used? I can't. Others seem to make more of a barrier rather than help the situation. I also love that it comes in several wonderful flavors. I'm currently using the Strawberry Lime. YUM!!!
